CHL posts 14% decline in six months net profit
May 08, 2019 Cargo Handlers Limited (CHL) For the six months ended March 31, 2019, reported revenue of $216.32 million, 15% higher than the $187.96 million booked in 2018. Revenue for the second quarter rose 10% to $111.45 million (2018: $101.39 million) due to, “baggage handling and provisioning activities associated with home-porting cruise vessels resulting in a 6.74% (9.5M) improvement this period. Cost of sales for six month period closed at $8.20 million relative to nil in for the corresponding period of 2018. As such, CHL recorded gross profit of $208.12 million, 11% more than the $187.96 million booked in 2018.

BIL reports 947% increase in six months net profit
May 1, 2019 Barita Investments Limited (BIL) for the first six months ended March 31, 2019, reported a 16% improvement in interest income mounting to $595.92 million relative to $511.74 million for the comparable period in 2018. Interest expense also increased to close at $339.50 million compared to $322.43 million in 2018. As a result, net interest income increased by 35% to $256.42 million relative to $189.31 million in 2018. Management noted the movement was, “underpinned by significant balance sheet growth”. Dividend income rose 287% to total $19.82 million compared to the $5.12 million earned for the first six months
