June 7,2018 Scotia Group Jamaica Limited (SGJ) has advised that the Board of Directors on June 6, 2018 passed the following resolution: “Be it resolved that a second interim dividend of 48 cents be paid on each stock unit of the paid up capital stock of the Company to stockholders on record as at the close of business on June 26, 2018 and that the same be payable on July 18, 2018.” The ex-dividend date is June 25, 2018.
EU: GDP for the first quarter of 2018 up by 0.4% in both euro area and EU28
June 7, 2018 According to Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, GDP rose by 0.4% in both the euro area (EA19) and the EU28 during the first quarter of 2018, compared with the previous quarter. Similarly, in the fourth quarter of 2017, GDP had grown by 0.7% in both zones. However, when compared with the same quarter of the previous year, GDP rose by 2.5% in the euro area and by 2.4% in the EU28 in the first quarter of 2018, after rising 2.8% and 2.7% respectively in the previous quarter.
