Euro area unemployment at 8.5% EU28 at 7.1%
May 2, 2018 For the month of March 2018 the euro area unemployment rate remained stable at 8.5% when compared to February 2018, according to the latest report published by Eurostat. However, year over year, unemployment rate fell 0.9% from 9.4% recorded in March 2017. Unemployment is at its lowest in the euro area since December 2008. The unemployment rate movements for EU28 mirrored that of the euro area, albeit at a lower percentage. For the month of March 2018, unemployment for EU28 stood at 7.1% similar to the previous month. However, on an annual basis unemployment fell from 7.9%
